Copiary does not send your data anywhere. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, and the extension makes no network requests at all.

What the extension handles

Copiary is a clipboard history manager. To do its job it reads what you copy (text, links and images) and keeps a list of those items so you can find them again later.

What it deliberately does not record

Anything copied out of a password field.
Anything copied while the tab you are on is a password manager or a payment site. That list covers 1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass, Dashlane, Keeper, NordPass, Proton Pass, the Google, Microsoft and Apple sign-in pages, PayPal, Stripe and Wise.
Anything at all while recording is paused. Click the status in the panel footer to pause and resume.

Where the data is stored

Text items and item metadata are stored in chrome.storage.local.
Image data is stored in IndexedDB.

Both live on your own computer, inside your Chrome profile. Nothing is uploaded, shared or sold.

What we can see

Nothing. We have no access to your clipboard history, no way to retrieve it, and no record that you use the extension at all.

Your control over the data

Clear all in the panel footer empties your history.
Deleting an individual item removes it, including its stored image data.
Uninstalling Copiary deletes everything it stored, permanently.

Page access

Copiary asks for access to all sites because the panel has to open on whatever page you happen to be on, and because pasting an item means writing into the field you had focused there. It does not read or record the content of your pages. The only thing it writes to a page is the item you clicked.

Third parties

None. There is no third-party code in Copiary, no remote scripts, no trackers, no SDKs.

Children

Copiary is a general-purpose utility. It is not aimed at children, and it collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version goes up at this address and the date above changes with it. Anything that affects how your data is handled will also show up in the extension's release notes.
